Carissa H. Stone M.D. has been practicing Pain Management since 1992 when she began her residency in Anesthesiology at the University of South Florida which she completed in 1995. She also completed a fellowship in Spinal Cord Injury and Rehabilitation at the James Haley VA. She trained in Tampa and under D.A.T.A. for Suboxone addiction treatment in the office setting, and obtained her waiver certification for in office treatment of Opiate dependence as well. She is a prescriber of Suboxone.
Dr. Stone specializes in the interventional treatment of back, neck and all types of nerve and skeletal pain including Botox for Migraine, Dysport for Cervical Dystonia and cancer pain, as well as the treatment of Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. She performs interventional pain management procedures utilizing fluoroscopic guidance, with or without patient sedation, in a Level 1 office based Procedure Center. She also has in office blood draw capability and can perform ultrasound guided procedures as well.
Further, Dr. Stone integrates a whole person Wellness/Nutritional approach to her practice which includes discussions on weight loss and dietary changes as needed. She believes in a comprehensive approach to Pain Management in order to achieve maximum patient functional restoration. Dr. Stone is also a Workman’s Compensation provider.
